Winter Reminder

Students will go outside for recess if the temperature or wind chill factor is above 20 degrees.
Please keep your winter safety guidelines near in case we have a bad winter storm. It lists the
radio stations to listen to for the school cancellations or early dismissals.

Nurse Notes

Hands-free is the way to be-for cold and flu prevention
Don’t touch your face with your hands during cold and flu season. Germs that cause colds and flu
that are on your hands will not enter your body unless you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth.

National School Counseling Week

This year’s theme is School Counselors: Helping Students Reach for the Stars with several
activities planned for the week of February 5-9.

Valentine’s Day Parties

Classroom Valentine’s Day parties will be held on Wednesday, February 14th. Students are asked to
wear hearts or red, pink, and white that day. Healthy party snacks are encouraged.

Westwood Site Council – 2/8

We encourage all parents to join
our Site Council meeting on
Thursday, February 8th at 12:00.
This group serves to provide
advice and counsel on the
implementation of the School
Improvement Plan.

No School – 2/12

No School on Monday, February 12th due to a Professional
Development Day for staff.
