State Testing
During the month of April, state tests will be given to our 3rd/4th/
5th graders in the subject areas of reading, math and science.
Teachers will send home notes about dates and times for each grade
level. Eat a good breakfast and be on time. Do your best!

Process opens around April 16th, 2018

• Click Family Access
• Enter your log in: stop in office if you do not have this
•Click each section to update/add any info
•Open each section and click “Save”
•Click “Submit” when enrollment is complete
If your family does not reside in the Westwood boundaries a Transfer
Request will need to be completed. Please pick up in the office.

Kindergarten Round-up
Informational meetings for parents and students who will enter
kindergarten in August 2018 will be held on Tuesday, April 17th at
4:30pm in the Westwood Library. Please let friends and neighbors
know if they have a student that turns 5 years old on or before
August 31, 2018.
Select Ensemble Performance
Everyone is invited to Westwood’s Select Ensemble Performance on
Thursday, April 19th at 6:00 p.m.
Kindergarten/1st Grade Music Program
Kindergarten and 1st grade Musical show will be on Tuesday, April
24th. Parents, you may take your child to his/her classroom at 5:15.
The teachers will be there to help the students. The school will not be
open until 5:15 so please don’t take your child earlier than that.
Please have your child wear his/her best Sunday dress/shirt.
Classroom Field Trips
This is the time of year that we are planning many field trips. Please
remember to dress your child accordingly for these days and to wear
proper shoes for the type of trip. Also, remember to send a light
jacket if the weather is subject to change.
Absences
Be sure to call in your child’s
absence by 8:30 a.m. If a parent
doesn’t call, the absence is
unexcused.
Doctor’s Note
All absences and tardies for
appointments need a doctor’s
note for our files.

With springtime here, we must
remember that more students will
be riding bikes and walking to
and from school. Please
remember to use safety at all
times when crossing intersections
and to respect the property of
others.
Spring Cleaning
As you spring clean your
children’s closets, please donate
to Westwood. We are in need of
shorts or pants with elastic
waistbands in all sizes (children’s
6-12).
5 Week Grades
Five week grades will be sent
home on Wednesday, April 25th.
Please make sure to sign and
return them to school the next
day.
