As part of Westwood Elementary’s State Assessments kick off, they are having a College and Career week to help students to think about the future! With many activities planned out, a big activity is their Careers on Wheels event on Wednesday March 28th. Westwood had individuals from several career fields come to the school and students rotated to different career stations to learn about their careers. The majority of the careers are bringing their mobile vehicle, which is why the event is called Careers on Wheels! Westwood was excited for the following volunteers to come to our school:
- Geary Country Rural Fire Department
- Dr. Hudson to represent Education
- Westar Energy
- Junction City Animal Shelter
- 97.5 Radio
- Kansas Army National Guard
- Junction City Sanitation
- USD 475 Lawn Care
- JC Animal Control
- TLC Towing
- H&H Heating, Plumbing, and Cooling
- USD 475 Linda Bongers and Dr. Hudson – Teaching and Learning
